La société de Jay Freeman alias Saurik créateur du Cydia Store et n°1 dans le monde du Jailbreak, vient d’entreprendre des poursuites judiciaires à l’encontre du propriétaire de Cydia.com. Elle réclame un droit absolu sur le nom de domaine, en vue de la protection intellectuelle qui avait été déposé par SaurikIT. Rappellons que le Cydia Store représente plusieurs millions de dollars puisqu’on y retrouve toutes les applications refusées par Apple mais aussi un maximum de tweaks et thèmes pour personnaliser son appareil. Certains sont gratuits mais d’autres payants au même titre que sur l’AppStore.

L’empire de SaurikIT choisit la solution offensive même si Cydia.com a été créé en 2002 par son propriétaire, soit 5 ans avant l’apparition du Cydia Store. Pourtant, il est bien stipulé en bas de page index que le site n’est en aucun cas affilié à SaurikIT ni à ses produits.

The company Jay Freeman aka Saurik creator of Cydia and Store No. 1 in the world of Jailbreak, is undertaking legal proceedings against the owner of Cydia.com. It requires an absolute right to the domain name, for the protection of intellectual property which was introduced by Saurik. Recall that the Cydia Store represents several million dollars as this area has all the applications denied by Apple but also a maximum of tweaks and themesto customize their device. Some are free while others pay as well as on the AppStore.
